April 2, 6 to 8:30 p.m. – How Katrina Changed Our Look.
Coast architects and others discuss how Katrina impacted our local architecture and areas of the community. This program will be presented by the American Institute of Architects as a “PechaKucha Night,” in which each architect uses 20 slides and in 20 seconds discusses their work, limiting each presentation to six minutes and 40 seconds. Participants include architects John Anderson, Allison Anderson and David Perks. Others involved: Holly Gibbs, Hands of Mississippi; Kevin O’Brien, Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art; Sonja Gillis, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center; Steve Phillips, WLOX; Corey Christy, Walter Anderson Museum of Art; Dr. Janice Johnson, Biloxi Public Schools; Brandon Boudreaux, Swetman Security; Christene Brice, Harrison County Election Commission District 4, and Romy Simpson, Negrotto’s Gallery.
